Mamta soaring to great heights
Mamta Mohandas of Mayookham fame has made it clear that she is here to stay, despite the failure of Mayookham. She started the year with Bus Conductor opposite Mammootty. Her next venture was with Suresh Gopi in Lankka. Though Lankka turned out to be a flop, she received mass appreciation for her stupendous performance. Her three minute smooching scene has caught the attention of many film-makers and also audience. Filmmakers are extremely pleased with the broad mindedness of this beautiful damsel. She has two more flicks in her bag. One is Madhuchandralekha opposite Jayaram. The other is Keerti Chakra opposite Mohanlal. In the meantime, she has also been signed up for two more, one in Telugu and the other in Tamil. Great going, Mamta!
Bhavana in Buddhadeb's film
The latest we hear is that national award-winning director Buddhadeb Dasgupta is planning to do a Malayalam film and grapevine has it that actress Bhavana has been approached to do the role. The young up and coming actress who is currently busy both in Malayalam and Tamil would be delighted to be part of a movie to be wielded by no lesser person than Buddhadeb Dasgupta himself known for portraying human emotions and sentiments to perfection.
Gopika, Bharath in Tamil
Bharath and Gopika, who came together in 4 The People under Jayaraj return as a team for the Tamil movie Emden to be directed by Thirumurugan, who has directed many TV serials, including a running mega serial. Nasser also has a pivotal gripping role in the movie.
Vani back in action
Vani Viswanath, who went into hibernation for some time, is back; she played an important role in Mammootty's Balram vs. Taradas, donning the role of a MLA in the movie; Suresh Gopi starrer Chinthamani Kola Case, her playing a firebrand advocate; in Tamil, Vani was the heroine's mother in Idhaya Thirudan produced by K. Balachander’s Kavithalaya and directed by Saran.
Navya Nair in Kannada
Navya Nair, who is currently acting in Tamil film Maya Kannadi has offers from Kannada. She started out in Malayalam with Ishtam and recently won the best actress award from Kerala Govt for her performance in Saira. In Tamil too her performance in Amritham has won her critical acclaim. Navya Nair would be making her debut in Kannada with the remake of blockbuster Tamil movie Pitamagan. The Kannada remake would feature Upendra in the role played by Vikram and Navya would act in the role played by Laila. Darshan plays Suryah’s role.
